Since I reached the 20,000 word mark, I baked some ugly, yet yummy, green tea shortbread cookies.
I managed to finish writing the rest of chapter eight, in which the young hero gets into another fight with a rich member of the aristocracy. The noble teenager is very proud and can’t stand the fact that he might not be superior in terms of magic. So he challenges our protagonist to a duel, which the teacher allows.
During the fight, our hero is distracted because his familiar wants to come out and fight, too. In order to keep his familiar safe and hidden, he takes his attention off of the fight and loses, which creates a situation where our hero will continue to be harassed during his time at the academy.
It’s a pretty dark situation, but the academy needs to exhibit all the wrongs in society so that when the hero gets strong enough, he can begin to change things for the better.
Also, I pulled a water sign for today’s mindfulness tarot card reading. I pulled the Nine of Cups, which indicates that today’s wishes should be fulfilled.

I am aiming to get through chapter nine, so I will continue to work until that is accomplished today!
Until tomorrow,
*Mwah, Love,
Jules
